Set entirely within the everyday space of a public men’s toilet, “AhJip’s Toilet Stories” is a 5-part (2min ea) micro drama that explores unexpected moments of empathy, connection, and quiet transformation.
Anchored by Uncle Ah Jip, a quick-witted, observant & somewhat nosy Security Guard stationed within the nostalgic charm of a 1980s Singapore mall, the series unfolds through brief encounters with men from all walks of life: a hyperactive & stressed startup founder, a nervous first-dater, a rain-soaked delivery rider, a teenage boy reckoning with regret, and an nonbinary man reclaiming confidence in a quiet space.
Through simple acts, offering a marker, a mint, a memory, Ah Jip becomes a subtle bridge between people, generations, and identities.
Each episode reveals how even in the most unremarkable spaces, a caring society takes shape, one gesture, one glance, one moment at a time.

Synopsis & Stills
EP1 “Flush of inspiration”
A hyperactive and stressed Startup Founder panics in the toilet over missed deadlines and furious investors breathing down his neck, dismissing the mall’s old security guard as if his modest job could never grasp the weight of real pressure.
But when Ah Jip calmly whips out a marker and scrawls a Jedi-style masterclass on the wall, covering pain points, market fit, and cash flow, the Startup Founder first scoffs at the idea that a security guard could offer real insight, but is soon disarmed and impressed by the sharp simplicity of Ah Jip’s lesson.
The absurdity of learning business wisdom at the urinal from a security guard breaks his tension, leaving him inspired, relieved, and sprinting back to the office with new purpose.
EP2 “Beneath the Bully”
When a teenage Bully storms into the toilet after tormenting a schoolmate, he encounters security guard Ah Jip, who dismantles his swagger with memories of his own scars and the unsettling truth that even bullies can be surprisingly timid. The encounter leaves the Bully to self reflect and starting to question what true strength really is.
EP3 “Swipe Right Support”
A shy Salaryman rehearses a string of cringe-worthy pick-up lines at the toilet, trying to prep for his first Tinder date. From the next urinal, security guard Ah Jip overhears and offers calm, old-school wisdom. Ah Jip hands him a mint and a quiet boost of confidence. The Salaryman straightens up at the mirror, leaving with the reminder that real connection and confidence comes from experience, not apps.
EP4 “Soaked No More”
A Food Delivery Rider stumbles into the mall toilet, drenched and demoralised by a one-star review after running late in the rain. Security guard Ah Jip listens quietly and shares his own stories of invisible work. Through humor and humility, he helps the man see that one bad review doesn’t erase the good and that persistence still matters. The Delivery Rider leaves steadier, reminded that dignity lies in showing up even when no one is watching.
EP5 "Not Just a Touch Up"
A Nonbinary man, stands at the sink applying makeup, steady yet uncertain of his place in the men’s toilet. Security guard Ah Jip enters, breaks the silence with gentle humor, and affirms his courage in being himself. Without judgment, only quiet acknowledgment, Ah Jip holds the door open as the man leaves. Left alone at the mirror, Ah Jip turns inward, quietly wondering if he has ever truly lived as his real self.
