Xavier Oon is a visually driven Creative Director with a background in Motion Design, Live Action & 3D Animation. Skilled in graphic design, with a keen eye for typography and understanding of visual communication principles, he began his career at MTV Channel, at a time when motion graphics was beginning to redefine the language of visual storytelling.
At Critica, Xavier focuses on innovating and developing unique visual content for a diverse range of industries ranging from Finance and Tech, to Hospitality, Tourism, Medical, Oil & Gas & Renewable Industries.
He has directed a wide range of live-action and animated commercials for brands like Hilton, AIA, Unilever, Johnson & Johnson, Merz Aesthetics, Bosch, Adidas, DBS, OCBC, Standard Chartered, National Geographic, Marina Bay Sands, McDonalds, STB, StarHub, and Singtel, and played a key role in branding seven TV channels across Southeast Asia.
In addition to developing ideas for TV advertising & B2B campaigns, he also works with local runtime Generative AI tools such as ComfyUI.
Highly proficient and hands-on with post-production tools including After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Unreal Engine and Cinema 4D. These skills allow him to work closely with clients, ensuring every project is delivered with precision, integrity, and responsibility.
He excels in seamlessly integrating chroma key footages with dynamic motion graphics and 3D treatments. This enhances the visual narrative, showcasing a distinctive skill set in the overall production quality.
He regularly gives talks & workshops on Motion Design, Gen AI, Prompt Engineering, Vibe Coding in schools or events, sharing knowledge with the future breed of design learners.
